Hey, guys!
I can't believe it's already the Christmas season! What a rollercoaster of a year it's been, and that feeling will only continue into 2025 when Foster The People embark on their upcoming North AND South American tours. Here's something to think about while you're opening your gifts, feasting on Xmas dinner, and ingesting pie and hot chocolate with mountains of whipped cream next week.
February was a huge month for me. Setting up a new blog and documenting everything the boys did during their album cycle was amazingly fun as I experienced an FTP era for the first time since their viral hit “Pumped Up Kicks”. I bought a blue sparkle vinyl and purchased an autographed CD from the band's website, and it's all been incredibly exciting to see how far we've come as well as how emotional it's been leaving my past behind to be a full-time Foster kid. I can't wait to see what else the boys have up their sleeves, but first let's begin with their itinerary for the coming year.
Beginning on January 25th, from the top most corners of Canada all the way down in Latin countries for Lollapalooza and Estereo Picnic, the boys are gearing up for a jam packed year of gigs! Speaking of Lollapalooza, Foster The People snagged a Side Shows spot on March 20th, 2025 as an additional treat for the Latin crowd dancing the night away at the festival. It's a lovely way to bid goodbye to the party as the first leg of the tour ends.
FTP are taking Good Neighbours out on the road around North America. While we're on the subject, Exclaim.ca published an article about a particular set of artists set for major 2025, so of course, one of them has to be Good Neighbours.
"Last up, UK lads Good Neighbours ended the night with a bang, the group ratcheting up the energy with thundering percussion (thanks in part to a floor tom that singer Oli Fox pounded during instrumental passages). Combining the joyous synth-rock hooks of aughts indie stars (think Passion Pit, MGMT and Foster the People) with the bravado of the Britpop greats, Good Neighbours showed Ignite why they've had such an ascendent year with the electrifying anthem ‘Home ‘ — their debut single from this past January that's already become a hit. Their Toronto set included a similarly infectious unreleased song, pointing to more great things for the duo of Fox and Scott Verrill — musicians who were already prolific solo artists, and have found instant chemistry as collaborating songwriters and producers.”
I've never heard of Good Neighbours until they popped up on my radar in early October when Foster The People announced the North American tour. I recently came across some Instagram posts dated from November 26th, 2024, about the East London duo shortlisted as BRiTs Rising Star 2025. Congrats to them!
Did Santa bring you what you wanted? Did he bless you with free tickets to these shows as a stocking stuffer? I'm curious what he brought you! Whether or not you celebrate Christmas or any other holiday in December, I wish you the best, and happy new year!
