Mark Foster As A Creative Visionary Behind Foster The People's Music Videos

Hey, everyone  A big part of recording artists releasing new music is the video to accompany new singles. I personally don't care about music videos. I don't think about videos, and the only reason I even watch them is to get the most out of a band's new era. Likewise, the video for “ Lost In Space ” debuted May 31, 2024 directed by Rupert Holler. But today's article has nothing to do with him, instead, it's about Mark Foster directing videos for Foster The People . Let's get it! Foster The People dropped “ Supermodel ” on March 14, 2014 featuring the singles “ Coming Of Age ”, “ Best Friend ”, and “ Pseudologia Fantastica ”. The latter being the first video Mark Foster directed for the group, among many others. It's actually interesting to me how he's so hands on with anything to do with FTP, and he deserves respect for his hard work. Although he didn't work on the video for “ Houdini ”, I'd say ...

"Paradise State Of Mind": Foster The People Are Reborn

Hey, everyone  On August 16, 2024 Foster The People  will release the follow up to 2017's “ Sacred Hearts Club ” and their fourth installment in a series of albums . From the first single “ Lost In Space ”, we gather FTP experimented with disco sounds and nostalgic electronic beats from the 1970s through the 1980s. Since the boys broke out and blew up in mid-2000s, the group have evolved and taken shape to fit the times all while keeping true to their trademark feel good vibes. This is “ Paradise State Of Mind”.  Now that all original members have evacuated the scene, it's now time for Mark Foster  and Isom Innis to reinvent the wheel, or at least carve a new path forward with an entire record of new material, including the singles, " Take Me Back " and " Chasing Low Vibrations ", and the aforementioned lead single " Lost In Space ". I'm super stoked about this next chapter of Foster The People. Mark and I...

Foster The People Album Covers Ranked

Hey, everyone  Since “ Paradise State Of Mind ” is two months away I thought I'd pop in and take stock of all the album artwork thus far. From “ Torches ” to “ Supermodel ” and “ Sacred Hearts Club ”, Foster The People are very aesthetically conscious about how their albums are presented. I admire their creativity and knowing what's good. So, with that said, let's analyze these album covers.  Let's begin with the band's 2011 debut “ Torches ”. The album cover is an illustration of some penciled cartoons holding a torch. In the 2021 gig at The Wiltern the boys used these as inflatables to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the album. The overall aesthetic isn't much of anything, but it gets the job done with a booklet full of lyrics and an orange toned disc lights a fire.  My opinion of “ Supermodel ” may be a bit controversial, but I really don't agree with the image of a cartoon character throwing up. I understan...
