Foster The People EPs (2009-2021)

Hey, everyone  Since I've covered every Foster The People album on this blog, I thought I'd discuss the band's EPs: “Self-Titled”, “ III ”, “ In The Darkest of Nights , Let The Birds Sing ”, and “ Post-SHC ”. So, without further ado, these are all of Foster The People's extended plays explained. We'll begin with the earliest FTP recording which is the band's self-titled effort featuring “ Pumped Up Kicks ”. In the beginning, PUK was a raw demo composed by frontman Mark Foster who uploaded it onto the band's website. Once the song went crazy viral the boys had to add it to their EP before “ Torches ” debuted in 2011.  Foster The People formed in Los Angeles October 2009, and after many failed attempts to get their own projects off the ground, Mark, Mark, and Cubbie teamed up to create Foster The People. As rock n roll superstars, the band progressed enough to show fans - and haters - they had more up their sleeves than a couple ...

Foster The People's Smash Debut: "Torches"

Hey, everyone  “ Torches ” is the blockbuster debut from Los Angeles Indie rock band Foster The People . It was released on May 23, 2011 via Columbia Records , and still stands as the landmark effort cementing the band's commercial success. Although severely underrated and often unappreciated, Foster The People continue to make waves in the industry beyond the shadow of their debut.  Original members Mark Foster , Cubbie Fink , and Mark Pontius started Foster The People in October 2009 in Southern California. Lead singer Mark Foster composed hard hitting classic “ Pumped Up Kicks ” which was added to the band's  self-titled EP just before recording their debut. They immediately uploaded it onto their website in the raw and the rest was history. Once the song went viral, Foster The People became a household name in the music scene - and the band even earned a couple of Grammy nominations for Pop Duo/Group and Alternative Music Album...

Don't Miss The Climax!

Hey, everyone  Los Angeles dynamic duo Peel are releasing their debut “ Acid Star ” on March 29, 2024 via Innovative Leisure . I couldn't be more excited to own another golden ticket from my band of heroes, and since the release date is inching closer, the preorder couldn't have been more worth it.  Sean Cimino and Isom Innis initially met when they were recruited into Foster The People in 2010 as touring members. They hit it off so well they teamed up to create their own thing. Now the boys have an album coming out four years after their self-titled EP hit the Internet October of 2020. The band already dropped two singles “ Y2J ” and the title track. Now, as of February 7, 2024, the group shared another single “ Climax ” after a live take of the song surfaced on YouTube. One of my favorite things about this project is the band's authenticity. The duo keeps true to their vision instead of what mainstream media pressures them to do. Eve...

Foster The People's Underrated Masterpiece: Sacred Hearts Club

Hey, everyone  Six years after Foster The People released “ Torches ” the band dropped “ Sacred Hearts Club ” on July 21, 2017. This time around, the beats and music were more danceable than its predecessors since the lineup was also totally different. Since founding member Cubbie Fink exited the band in 2015, it was time for touring musicians Sean Cimino and Isom Innis to join the fold. This change was far from ordinary. It literally meant uprooting their foundation for a complete reinvention. This is “ Sacred Hearts Club ”.  “ Sacred Hearts Club ” is the third effort from Los Angeles rock band Foster The People, which, unlike the first two albums, actually breaks away from the mold, and has fun doing it. First thing's first, FTP released a three-track EP “ III ” on April 27, 2017. It features “ Pay The Man ”, “ Doing It For The Money ,” and “ SHC ”. This extended play teased the dawn of a new era following the seriousness of 2014's “ Superm...
